I'm honestly surprised by a lot of you. The whole "no single android phone outsells the iPhone!" argument, is foolish and weak. It's a platform war.
How do you "win" a platform war?
Does Google win because they have so many devices running their Android OS? *Marketshare*
Or does Apple win because you have to buy their hardware in order to get iOS? *Profit*
Or can we just agree that both platforms are doing insanely well in their respective ways?

1) Have you not seen the comparison between the Samsung phone and the iPhone?
2) We even have sales people telling customers the Samsung phone is "like an iPhone"..
1) I own both.
They are rectangular and have icons on home screens.
There's only so much one can do with smart phone styling.
It's not like Apples on the verge of going out of business.
Much ado over nothing.

I saw one in the wild.
Employee at an AT&T store in Charlotte, NC had one last week when I stopped in to purchase a car charger. He said they are probably going to be out soon, but mentioned that he is having problems with the proximity sensor. he said the screen display is staying on when he is on calls and that his cheek/ear are activating display controls. Could it be an issue with the bright white reflecting too much light into the sensor?
I have same problem on my IP4

I have the iPad 2 running 4.3.1 and I have no such setting available.

Um.... I am pretty sure that Apple gets a higher subsidy from having an exclusive carrier agreement, lowering the cost to their customers, yet still keeping margins on the device high.

I have my fingers crossed! one of them is connected to the power supply for another machine :eek: it seems to be working for now but I will have to get some bigger psu's soon. The one you are getting looks like a good deal.

As long as we don't end up with 50 million 3rd party peripherals using USB3 costing $29.95 each
And 10 Thunderbolt peripherals costing $499.99 each.
A little exaggerated example perhaps, but you get my drift.
Probably not to far off. what will be funny is all the people who bought a 2011 mbp, I am guessing probably will not choose to pay premium for the drive and will upgrade their laptop prior to buying affordable TB drive for thier machine.
I hope I am wrong, But I think 500 might not be to far off from actual price.

I would have to say its because apple was in production fixing the Iphone 4 for 8 months just to get the white one in stores and i would have to say that put them behind on production of a new phone.

At&t bumped my upgrade eligibility from 11/30/2011 to 6/30/2011.
I do a lot of business and have several activated lines with AT&T and Verizon. I purchase several new phones annually from each of them. I'm a true smartphone addict. :eek:
AT&T has revamped the way they calculate upgrade eligibility and time lines. They used to simply count the months you've been in contract and assign you a fixed date.
Recently all that has changed. Now they take into consideration how much you spend with them, how many lines you have, what your data plan and text msg plans are etc. They monitor this on an ongoing basis. As a result your upgrade date on your account is dynamic and will change periodically.
It may change frequently or just once or twice during your contract period. In my case what I like is I get upgrade pricing just about anytime I wish based on the fact I spend quite a bit to have several concurrently activated phones.
Your mileage may vary :)

I've seen the blue screen on XP. It's funny because I've been told by Windows users that it doesn't exist in XP, yet I witnessed it two weeks ago when a colleague of mine was trying to do something with Adobe Acrobat. The program just spazzed and the blue screen came up.
The reason you don't see it much is because the new default in XP is to just reboot the machine instead of sitting on that screen. It's still there.

I am sure any plans to launch it have been scrapped and this is just a left over prototype. You know Apple has a history of planning for every contingency, I am sure there are Sprint iPhones ready to go also. If Apple decides to release them they would be ready to go.
I very much hope Apple will have a Sprint phone -- I'll buy one that works on Sprint.

I don't see this happening, TV technology changes to fast to get stuck with an expensive TV that you need to keep for many years to justify the higher price.

Are you really going to carry all those? If you want to travel with the thing, just take what you need. I can see an Air + external 2.5inch RAID being a nice minimalist setup for video editing.
This is a personal opinion but here: If i had to carry a 1.5 pound weighing 2.5 inch RAID, I rather buy a MBP 13. But again, this my personal opinion, and you are entitled to yours.

1 USB port in a laptop? you must be kidding. a USB port for a TB port that is useless until perhaps 6-12 months?
How does it effect movies? This new GPU is easily powerful enough to decode video. Do you watch all your movies on fast forward or something?
And what are you using OpenGL for that needs that power? Most apps run fine without much acceleration.
When we say "enough" and "runs fine" we are thinking of apps that require minimal standards. Man, when we are talking about at least quality games such as WoW, SC2, and MMO's, the difference between 320m and the Intel GPU is the difference between "playable and not playable"

I am surrounded by windows, wonderful views, and don't want to close all my blinds and and be in the dark so that I can use my awesome reflective computer monitor. I appreciate that the glass may be wonderful for some, but understand that it is awful for others. The option for a matte screen is logical. Open your mind, respect the views of others, and stop being a tool.

More important than an "empty" button I would like to see a restore function in the Trash, where you can highlight one or more files or folders and click the "restore" button.
