Hm, how would I be able to connect my DVI monitor to one of these? I need my high quality Eizo to do photo editing on. I'm not going to do that on the main screen.

i just don't see the incentive to join another team,
i have my MacBook, my Mac mini, PS3, a 1.66GHz Dell PC and a 1.8GHz Dell PC all folding 24/7
why would i leave my own team to join MacRumors? I just hit 128 units, look me up team # 170955
but tell me. why should i MR will never be ranked #1

I missed seeing it in theaters. That's a great deal for the price.
I actually had never seen it, just didn't get around to it. I just bought it because it was a Michael Cera movie :P

Agreed.
Why would anybody with limited know how about TV manufacturing go into that field?
USING somebody elses TV to display whatever makes much more sense.
I could see them coming in with a blockbuster smart projector device.
Now we are talking:-)
I mean they knew everything about Flash based music players and the mobile phone market didn't they?
They won't do it because the competition wouldn't give them scree at a decent rate. LG, or Sony are hardly going to turn around and give them screens at a rate which would mean competition to their own products.

Does anybody else see the 9.6 inside the apple?
Sept. 6th?
Whatever it means, it's interesting.
I don't see that at all. What I see is "number 9, number 9, number 9." Of course if I put on a pair of anaglyph 3D glasses I also see "the Walrus was Paul." Ha. Ha.

I have the last model of 24" iMac that had an anti-glare screen. I just had to make the first repair, replaced the hard drive.
My fear is that I will be forced to build a Hackintosh or get an iMac with one of these new cheaper screens.
I stopped buying iMacs the day they went gloss. I now have a bunch of minis with the older Matte Cinema Displays. As simple as that I put my money where my mouth is. If I couldn't get these, I would buy other branded displays.
When Steve Jobs made a comment a couple of years ago about Apple's customers saying they preferred gloss (or something like that) I wrote to Apple to say that at least one customer doesn't prefer gloss and why, and there is a pretty vocal group of Apple customers who share my sentiments. At least we were given the option on the MacBook Pros. I hate having to pay extra on an already expensive machine, but that's what I've done with my new just-ordered MBP. It's one small and expensive vote for usability to prevail over eye-candy. Sigh.

Oh, well you never get everything...I'll be ordering a 15" soon. Hopefully it wont be a lap burner.

wow, how spectacularly awful.
My phone seems to not accept calls about 5% of the time, and I'm pissed with that.
I'm waiting for the iPhone price war to reduce the price to be somewhat sensible now there's competition for it.

Purchase spare battery? Nice Apple nice. It may be a legit option, god knows its somewhat a PITA to find on apple's site, but still. I don't want to hear anyone complaining about MS's in OS ads.

Amazon is poised to pwn both Apple and Google on that one.
If MobileMe is any indication, Apple just doesn't get cloud - if they plan on charging for it, Amazon is happy to take their business - they'll sell you plain mp3s for the boot!
Android wins (http://www.androidcentral.com/nielsen-android-americas-most-wanted-platform) in any case!

You don't need Rosetta, iOS is Intel 64 native. You get a copy with Xcode called the Simulator.
The problem is that all iOS app store binaries are ARM and not x86. Devs could provide a second build for the simulator but they would have to do it for all of their old apps.
Maybe there will be a touchscreen MBA with both an intel and an arm processor that can run iOS apps in fullscreen alongside other Mac apps...

Interesting that they avoided U.S. courts.
Mannheim is very very fast venue - something like a year, maybe less. And the defendant can't argue the patent is invalid (they need to do that in a separate, slower action).

Im actually kinda shocked android has more devices using its OS than Apple does.
Why? Any manufacturer can grab it for free instead of paying a fee. Makes sense they would flood the market with lots of copycat Android models. Just look at the Asian market where there are hundreds of Android phones, many of whom are Android in name only (cannot use the Android App market, etc.) but useful to the knockoff phone manufacturer who can grab it free, slap it into their devices and sell their stuff as "Android" to the marketplace. Given that there are hundreds of different Android model phones, it's a wonder it isn't even more popular than it is.

Nope. I see every issue from the consumer perspective - as I should (being a consumer). Any other perspective would be an abomination (unless for those who hold tons of AAPL shares).
Phrases like "in Apple's eyes" is a good example of what I am talking about. Apple does not use iPhones, consumers do. Consumer eyse are the only eyes that matter. And that is exactly why people are switching to Android. If Apple cares more about what they think is right than what I think is right (for me) it would be stupid for me to care about what Apple thinks or does.
I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. You say that it would be stupid for you to care about what Apple thinks or does, yet you're on here berating them left and right. It makes zero sense to me.
Consumer eyes do matter and that's who Apple builds devices for. They don't build them for the spec junkie who has to have everything in the spec list checked off. They want people to have a great experience on their device in areas that matter in their mind.
I doubt that but even if that was the case then what? Every other phone manufacturer on the planet can design a phone that has LTE and Apple could not? Because they spend on R&D much less than any other hi-tech company of comparable size?
It is definitely true currently. No chip supports LTE and the other specifications (CDMA, GSM) yet.
Apple certainly can design a phone that supports LTE, but getting good battery life out of it is another thing. This is an area of focus for Apple so they won't make compromises here.

September would be a nice time-frame. Since iPhones are mostly unlocked/PAG over here, they'd make a nice gift for Christmas. They could benefit from this particular release (closer to Christmas) by expecting greater sales; thus, they may lower pricing.

Not surprising given that Gateway's market share numbers come directly from the extremely low margin, low end systems they are dumping on the market. In other words they have higher volumes but they are making next to nothing (for some nearly selling at a loss) in order to get those volumes.
...basically the stock market knows that Gateway is not a very safe bet...
Which is exactly why Dell is taking a beating today (down 12%). Their margins are so low that any downturn in sales has a devastating effect on their profits. Apple has much larger margins (as they don't sell $300 computers), so they can afford a small downturn in sales (which isn't happening now anyway).
